Is your pocketbook looking a bit piqued, perhaps from a bit too much holiday cheer or over-jubilation on New Year’s Eve? Well, the fine folks at Second Thought Theatre (3636 Turtle Creek Blvd.) are here to help. Friday through Sunday, the theater is performing the comedy A Behanding in Spokane in a pay-what-you-can fashion. The show is by Academy Award winner Martin McDonagh and centers on a man who has been searching for his dismembered hand for nearly 30 years. There are blood, violence, con artists and a couple with a hand to sell. If those saucy details don’t persuade you to make the trip to the theater, then ask yourself these questions three: What does a play about a one-handed man searching for his long-lost beloved five fingers look like? How about a black market for lost limbs? How would you conceal and preserve a dismembered hand? Go and find out! Pay-what-you-can tickets are available at the box office the day of the performance and are first come, first served. Tickets can be reserved at secondthoughttheatre.com or by calling the box office at 866-811-4111. A Beheading in Spokane runs most Thursdays through Mondays until January 26, with official opening night set for January 7.
Mondays, Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Jan. 7. Continues through Jan. 7, 2013
