The past few weeks have been a coughing, hacking, feverish blur of vaccine panic and flu hysteria. If you haven’t had it, you’re lucky; if you have, then you’ve certainly served your time sweating under the covers. And after all that time you spent sequestered with your germs, you need to indulge in that proverbial best medicine: the laughing. Kyle Kinane provides just the dose you need at the Addison Improv, 4980 Beltline Road, at 8 p.m. Thursday with shows through Sunday. Kinane, who was named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch,” has honed his craft on Conan and Comedy Central Presents and put out the much-fawned-over comedy album Death of the Party in 2010. The comedian delivers absurdly bleak, hyper-intelligent and painfully funny riffs on everything from cycling to airline travel to pizza. Not your traditional feel-good comedian, but dang if it won’t help you, well — feel better. Tickets are $15 to $25. Call 972-404-8501.
