That massive celebration of grassroots art lovin’, Art Con 8, left us gleeful for weeks. So why they’re throwing all of us a thank you party is beyond me. Shouldn’t we be baking those organizers a giant cake? (Let’s not overthink it.) It’s a big Monday over at Double Wide (3510 Commerce St.) when all involved with the Art Con project, from volunteers to artists to attendees to those who posted “I’mm gunna b outta town but REALLY wanna go” on the event’s Facebook page unite in a shared fondness of do-gooding. We’ll get to hear the final tally of how much cash goes to the receiving charities (Girls Rock Dallas and W.T. White Ceramics Program) and catch up with each other, without those “you’re going down” auction stares getting in the way. It’s only $5 to get in. You have that!
