Tuesday, film dorks, you’ve got options. If you dig Werner Herzog, (you’re nodding, of course you are) then you’ll want to casually bro down with the gentle souls of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Oak Cliff (3839 W. Kiest Blvd.). They’re screening his 2011 release, which takes us deep into France’s remote and lush Chauvet Cave to explore art and artifacts dating back 20,000 years. Cave of Forgotten Dreams is Herzog at his most tender, reflective and exploratory. It’s free, and in 2-D at this 7 p.m. screening. Call 972-291-2710. Tuesday Night Trash at Texas Theatre (231 W. Jefferson) got a recent revamp, with former curator and B-movie sludge-diver Travis Box hanging up his toxic waste suit indefinitely. Now, a few other things have changed. The series has been reduced, with screenings scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month instead of its previous weekly model; the rotten-fruit selection is now sniffed out by Jason Reimer and Barak Eptstein; and there’s a ticket fee. Womp womp, indeed. Still, $3 (for members) and $6 (for normies) is a small price to see Street Trash in 35mm. Consider the film a PSA against drinking unlicensed booze. There’s a new flask-sized liquor on the market named Viper, and it’s cheap ... real cheap. But when folks chug it, well — explosive, colorful things happen. Visit thetexastheatre.com. Street Trash screens at 9:15 p.m.
