Point of fact. There were no tunnels or weapons at the home Corrie was defending. In fact, the Nasrallah family (whose home it was) travelled to Tel Aviv and obtained visas for a 2005 speaking tour of the US. Some terrorists! Their home was destroyed because it was 300 meters from the Egyptian border and Israel destroyed all the homes within 400 meters of the border. That would be like Canada destroying all the American homes within a quarter mile of the Mexican border. Corrie's politics were irrelevant. She merely reported what she saw as an eyewitness...the purposeful destruction of water wells, greenhouses, homes, civilian infrastructure...in short, crimes against humanity committed by Israel. We shouldn't let our own pro-Israel prejudices (ramped up by Holocaust guilt and the power, wealth and influence of the Israel lobby) distort our view of this brave American woman. She spoke truth to power and Israel deservedly comes out looking bad. Shame on us for supporting Israeli apartheid. We can do better.
