Taking our dogs to new, unfamiliar places and allowing them to go berserk is the secret passion of all dog owners. Occasionally, that backfires. It turns out that dogs do not love: art galleries, bowling or Rollerbladers. Just trust us on this. Their leg-shake dreams involve lots and lots of running, hundreds of other dogs and trick-or-treating for rawhides. On Sunday, make those fantasies reality as the city’s biggest annual canine bash, Dog Bowl, takes over the Cotton Bowl at Fair Park (3750 Cotton Bowl Circle). There your mutt can romp off-leash, soak in a kiddie pool or squire you through the vendor arena, which includes low-cost vaccination tents, portrait studios and canine-specific goodies. It’s completely free to attend, runs from 1 to 5 p.m. and isn’t limited to those who already have dogs, as adoptions will be available onsite. Visit fairpark.org or call 214-421-9600.
