Saturday night marks the opening reception of the curiously titled Lunchmeat (less than) Catfood at Cohn Drennan Contemporary (1107 Dragon St.), with Denton artists Ayrton Chapman, Bailey Chapman, Jennifer Leigh Jones and Alex Revier. The success of their Dallas. PUNK! exhibition earlier this year has proven Cohn Drennan one of the more daring galleries on Dragon, so this collection is the perfect fit. It will be the debut of Ayrton Chapman’s large-scale installation, “Meattropolis,” a small city made of food, which was partially funded by Kickstarter and a DMA grant. Ayrton’s sister Bailey’s own installation will also be part of the landscape. UNT MFA grad Jennifer Jones and recent BFA grad Alex Revier will present paintings that capture their own sense of the surreal. Opening reception is 6 to 8, and the show runs through August 3. Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: June 29. Continues through Aug. 3, 2013
