Friday is Social Science night, the event that recently won the Dallas Observer’s Best Night at the Museum award, and it’s sold out. Now, we aren’t telling you this news to ruin your day. We’re telling you so that you can A) get excited if you bought a ticket early, because boy are you a smart cookie, or B) plan better next time. These quarterly parties are Dallas’ most inventive date nights, allowing all who can squeeze into the Perot Museum of Nature and Science (221 N. Field St.) to purchase cocktails and enjoy special themed programming. Also, these nights are 21 and up, so wear those weird shoes without fear of tripping over the ankle-biters. Friday’s installment is all about music and features everything from a silent disco downstairs to lectures from physics professors on how the brain absorbs and translates musical code. There are sound experiments, something tagged as a “musical petting zoo” and — what every party needs — a guest neuroscientist. Get details or look ahead for the next installment at perotmuseum.org.
