If you don’t already know DadBoner, here’s the breakdown. @DadBoner is the Twitter handle of a guy named Karl Welzein, who tweets pop culture commentary (“In the end, the Breaking Brad guy shoulda got erotic with a few babes, piled high with all the toppings. Close out the show with some class.”), romantic advice (“If you gotta get solo erotically, at least shoot for the stars with an all babe program, not a huntin’ show. Optimize your potential.”), and occasionally tries to figure out what happened when he was blackout drunk (“Feels like I slept in the parking lot of an Auto Zone last night, ’cause I did.”) Now, despite the fact that Welzein is publishing a book called Power Moves: Livin’ the American Dream, USA-Style, he’s not real. He’s the hilarious and crazy successful creation of stand-up comic Mike Burns, who will be hosting @DadBoner and Friends, You Guys at Sons of Hermann Hall, 3414 Elm St., at 7 p.m. The show will feature readings from Power Moves, a performance by The Granada Theater’s Chris McDonald and Gavin Mulloy and comedy by Clint Werth. Just so we’re clear: It’s a comedy show hosted by a comic to promote a book written by a guy he made up who’s just barely functionally literate. Any questions? Tickets are $15.
