Reefer Radness

Marijuana gained acceptance so fast that the country really doesn’t know what to make of it. We’ve got two states on the books that made recreational usage legal with more certain to follow their example. It wasn’t that long ago that we were making anti-drug movies to scare young people away from it that attributed all sorts of bizarre side effects to pot, like murderous tendencies, progressive political support and horns that suddenly grow out of strange places. Now we have things like the Demonic Chronic 48-Hour Stoner Film Race that pits teams of film crews in a two-day movie-making marathon and challenges them to create the best weed-related movie they can from Friday, 4/18, to (when else?) Sunday, 4/20, followed with a live concert and wrap party. Teams can register for $75 at The winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony at the Texas Theatre, 231 W. Jefferson Blvd., on Monday, April 28.
