Agave Azul

For me, this is one of the best Mexican places in Dallas, if not THE best. I have been here several times over the years, first when it was up off I 35 nearer to Lewisville and now where it is presently located in the historic old town off Beltline. The food is stupendous here. The homemade tortillas are delicious, especially with the chorizo queso appetizer. My favorite entree is the chile reneo with the special pecan raisin sauce. My only complaint is that they do not make the cilantro mashed potatoes anymore. The lime rice is a very good substitute however. I have also had the quail which was delicious too. And you better save room for desert. The flan is the best I have ever had, hands down, anywhere. And it takes 2 to eat it, it is so rich. That and the sopapillas with traditional agave nectar are sweet ways to end the meal. And for those that are tequila lovers, this is your place with a huge variety to try.
