El Tizoncito Taqueria

I ran across an artice in the DBJ on this restaurant and we had to go check it out. I'm glad we did. We had such a great experience! The atmosphere has a very warm sunny look and feel. The food and margaritas are excellent and the hospitality from Leo was top shelf. I can't remember the names of all the food we tried. I loved the pork taco with pineapple and my husband loved the barbacoa. We will be back again!

Since I'm always on the lookout for great tacos, the DBJ's story about El Tizoncito's claim to bring Mexico City to Dallas caught my eye. El Tizoncito definitely will help you get your Mexico City food fix. For starters, I have never encountered chicharron de queso in Dallas like theirs. The paper-thin pieces of toasted cheese hot off the grill, is not on the menu, but can be requested and should be! El Tizoncito's tacos al pastor are prepared authentically, shaved off and grilled until crispy and seasoned just right. They can be enjoyed with or without the cilantro, onion, and pineapple served separately. Other great choices are the choriqueso for starters and the "Texas-Size" tortas that are fresh and flavorful. As a family, we've had everything on the menu and all is consistently perfect. El Tozoncito is authentic Mexican food worth the trip!!!
