Thursday 10.11 TractorBeam is throwing a party -- Those impossibly talented creatives over at TractorBeam have shopped the globe in search of the very best artists and illustrators. On Thursday they'll show off some favorites at Under The Radar, an art show and party featuring the talented illustrators of the Jennifer Vaughn Artist Agency. We got a sneak peek at the collection and it's way more fun than you should be allowed on a Thursday. There will also be DJs and booze, so go or be sad.
Drastically Appropriate Fashion Show -- Dallas stylist Jillian Prado believes that jaw-dropping looks are attainable for every occasion and every individual. Tonight she'll show you exactly how to do it during Drastically Appropriate, a four-year-strong runway show being held at Teddy's Room. Bucks raised go to the Fashionistas and Children's Medical.
Art in the Park, for the North Texas Food Bank -- If anyone deserves a round of applause it's the North Texas Food Bank, the organization that's been feeding Dallas for 30 years. That's a lot of meals. In honor of that tremendous anniversary, there's Art in the Park, an art party with live music by Emerald City. It's being hosted by Ambassador Kathryn Hall, Craig Hall, and Dallas Cowboy Great Preston Pearson.
CentralTrak Kicks Off Next Topic, Its New Speaker Series -- It's a brand new bi-weekly event happening over at our favorite art incubator, CentralTrak. Tonight you'll hear from UT Dallas Arts and Technology (ATEC) professors Frank Dufour and Thomas Riccio, who will be discussing their collaborative multi-media exhibition, Not So Indifferent, which you can check out while there. Pro Tip: Take the bus. Parking in that neighborhood will be rough-going this weekend.
Friday 10.12 Night of the Living Dead, The Play -- The thespians are coming for you, Barbara. Yep, it's a stage adaptation of the greatest zombie movie of all time. Let's just hope nobody goes "method."
The Boobie Tube at the Boiler Room -- It's burlesque, as told through television's most savory characters. It'll be a real antennae jiggler. Your eight dollar cover benefits local animal do-gooders, DFW Rescue Me, so you'll feel great about staring at Joanie Cunningham's cleavage.

Saturday 10.13 Pot Zombies II and the DOA Bloodbath Film Festival -- Blow off the weekend sports rivalry at Texas Theatre and hunker down with your monster movie brethren. It's the DOA Bloodbath Film Festival, a celebration of all things oozing, creaking and leaking and on Saturday you'll also be a part of Dallas history as Pot Zombies II makes its world premiere. I know what you're thinking: Will you be able to hop in without having seen Pot Zombies I? Yes, you'll be just fine. We Are 1976 Opens in Oak Cliff -- Gosh, like Oak Cliffers needed another incentive to stick to their side of the river. Those adorable style peddlers over at We Are 1976 have opened their second location in Bishop Arts and to celebrate they're throwing a party! (Bring coins, Lunch Buddies will unveil RUCKY-RAD, the claw machine of the future!) Also, there's snacks and DJs. It kicks off at 6 p.m.
So. Many. Art. Openings. -- Circuit 12, Conduit, PDNB, Cris Worley, Galleri Urbane, Holly Johnson, Kirk Hopper, Cohn Drennan and many other great galleries have openings on Saturday. It's the best way to dodge the Shootout, and there's wine! Sunday 10.14 Rufus Wainwright Goes Highbrow -- That wacky troubadour is performing at the Meyerson, but not with the Dallas Symphony. You'll just have to attend to see what that rascally Canadian is up to.
Free X-Rated Comedy Show at Hyena's -- Jon Tole is a favorite of Howard Stern, so it isn't shocking to find out his schtick leans blue. What is baffling, however, is that its free this Sunday at Hyena's Dallas. Yeah, kid. Free expletive-rich humor.
