If there’s anything Dallas needs (and all of us, if we’re being honest), it’s more classical music. The performance of Ian Bostridge, a regular guest at Covent Garden, English National Opera and the Bavarian State Opera, marks the debut of the Robert E. and Jean Ann Titus Art Song Recital Series, a showcase dedicated to preserving the “art song.” Bostridge’s recent performances include The Tempest for the Royal Opera House in London, The Rape of Lucretia in Munich and Don Giovanni for the Vienna State Opera. The premiere of the Titus Recital Series and Bostridge’s debut on the Dallas opera scene will include selections by Benjamin Britten, Charles Ives, Noel Coward and Cole Porter as well as the original 12-song version of Franz Schubert’s “Winterreise.” The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at Dallas City Performance Hall, 2520 Flora St. Tickets start at $15.
