Ascent Lands in Fort Worth

Which is louder: 100 crying babies or a Boeing 747 on takeoff? This is just one of many questions posed and explained as part of Ascent...When Dreams Defy Gravity, the newest exhibit at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, 1600 Gendy St. in Fort Worth. Ascent consists of 8,500 square feet of interactive, educational content about the science and technology of flight, and explores the rich history (and future) of North Texas aviation and aerospace technology. As home to Bell Helicopter, Lockheed Martin, L3 Communications, Raytheon, American Airlines and Southwest Airlines, the Dallas-Fort Worth area boasts some of the biggest names in airlines, aircraft design and aerospace technology. Not too shabby. The exhibit gives kids (of all ages) the chance to see how the industry developed, but they can also challenge Rosie the Riveter to a riveting contest, create their own aircraft designs, explore aeronautics and astronomy in hands-on experiments and watch Dare to Dream, an exclusive HD video about aviation achievements in North Texas. Entry is included with museum exhibit admission, which is $14 for adults and $10 for children and seniors. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
