Attention, Ladies

While the image of Rosie the Riveter represents the 6 million women who worked in factories and shipyards during World War II, it doesn't apply to all those honored in the newest exhibit at The Women's Museum at Fair Park. Women in War: Reflections of Courage explores the vital role American women played in times of war, including not only those who helped produce munitions, but also the women who fought in the United States Armed Forces. The exhibition will display historical documents and artifacts that tell the story of women in military service throughout American history. And, at the July 7 opening reception, a panel discussion will honor four former USAF women. Museum admission is $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and free for children under 5. Student discounts are available. Call 214-915-0860 or visit
Tuesdays-Sundays, 12-5 p.m. Starts: July 1. Continues through Sept. 16
