Belle of the Ball

Beauty and the Beast is a tale as old as time. I know because I remember the lyrics from the Disney song. Here's a brief refresher course: A prince lives in a beautiful castle surrounded by everything he could want. But the prince is a jerk. One winter's night an old beggar woman offers him a rose in return for shelter from the cold. The prince says no. The old woman tells him not to judge a hag by her harelip, because beauty is found within. The prince again refuses her and offers to show her the door the hard way. Just then the hag disappears, and standing in her place is a beautiful enchantress. Now the prince realizes he's blown it. But it's too late. The enchantress turns him into a hideous beast. The rose she offered him will continue to bloom until his 21st birthday. If he can learn to love somebody and get them to love his ugly old self back before the last petal falls off the rose, the spell will be broken. If not, he's screwed.
