You know the iconic fantasy film which was based on the German novel Die unendliche Geschicht? Never heard about it? Did you live in a bomb shelter in the 1980s? Let me explain, friend. It's about a daydreaming young boy who begins reading a book, and gets caught up in the adventure...literally. Bastian (that would be the boy) ends up being the key to help a warrior, Atreyu, save the world of Fantastica from evil-doers The Nothings. OK, I see that you still have that confused look in your eye. How about you attend The Dallas Children's Theater this month, as they will be putting on their rendition of this classic children's novel and film. Then you will be caught up to speed, and we can have conversations about how Falkor looks nothing like a dragon and more like a Great Pyrenees dog. The Dallas Children's Theater's production of The Neverending Story runs Friday through July 12, in the Baker Theater at the Rosewood Center for Family Arts (5938 Skillman St.).
