Energy Matters

Nothing makes me feel quite as insignificant as pondering dark matter and dark energy. Theoretical concept or not, the mere thought that 95 percent of the universe is made up of something that no one--not even the nerdiest of all scientists--can physically perceive gives me the heebie-jeebies. Well, the theoretical physics behind dark matter and dark energy collide with actual art as Centraltrak: The UT Dallas Artists Residency presents Dark Energy/Dark Matter, a new exhibition by artist Edward "Ted" Setina. Not sure how the artist will represent dark matter or energy since we can't, you know, see it, but, in past exhibitions, Setina has created 3-D installations and sculpture-paintings described as "opaque boxy things." Admission is free. Dark Energy/Dark Matter runs from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays through May 19 at Centraltrak, 800 Exposition Ave. For more information, visit
Wednesdays-Saturdays. Starts: March 28. Continues through May 19, 2009
