The state of the arts in North Texas is so dynamic, so fresh and so very exciting these days that you almost feel like you should be sporting a beret and practicing finger snaps. There’s sculpture strewn about town and Big Happenings almost every weekend in our so-not-quaint arts district. The music scene has moved past the great cover-band phase of the late aughts and wow ... the calendar overflows with artsy to-dos. Dallas’ artistic zeitgeist is the topic of a discussion hosted by the Dallas Museum of Art, 1717 N Harwood St., at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Join KERA’s Jeff Whittington for State of the Arts as he leads rising talents — including singer/songwriter Sarah Jaffe, choreographer Bruce Woods and actor Steven Walters — through a discussion about their creative process and the exciting artistic innovations currently brewing in the area. Admission to the event is $5. Visit dma.org.
