If there's any hope that civilization will continue to create art and literature more worthy of preservation than a passing Photoshop meme or blog post, it lies with the teenagers still developing their talents. Recognition of their hard work is the best way to ensure they stick with it, rather than go for the cheap encouragement of an anonymous "lol." ART.WRITE.NOW. commends about 100 works of art and writing from seventh- through 12th-graders, including four from young Texans, and is on exhibit through February 12 in the Community Room at Half Price Books, 5803 E. Northwest Highway. Call the store at 214-379-8000 or visit artandwriting.org/artwritenow.
