We're not entirely sure what led to the "implied cracks" crackdown, but the fact that this year's AnimeFest has explicitly banned them in its dress code guidelines (don't worry, cleavage and midriffs are still A-OK) only increases our curiosity about the eccentric revelry, both real and implied, at this year's festival. Being held at the Hyatt Regency at Reunion Tower, the festival features autograph sessions, artists, actors, gaming and Cosplay ... tons of Cosplay. AnimeFest 2011 features Dallas' own Bowling For Soup as musical guests in addition to a litany of popular artists and actors such as guest of honor Dai Sato, screenwriter of Cowboy Bebop. Visit animefest.org for information about hotel and travel arrangements, event schedules, contest entry rules and much more -- including those curious but important dress-code policies and details on membership (which starts at $25 and can be purchased at the convention), as AnimeFest is open to members only.
