It’s not always easy to entertain preschoolers, but the folks at Dallas Heritage Village have an activity for the sippy-cup set that’s more fun and educational than that Elmo DVD your kid has watched a thousand times. Barnyard Buddies is back, and this installment, Saddlebag Supper, features a craft activity in addition to story time. Kids will be treated to a reading of David Davis’ Fandango Stew, the story of Louis and Slim, a couple of grifter cowboys who convince the town of Skinflint to cook a free pot of stew for them. After the reading, the little ones will make their own stewpot crafts to take home. Saddle up for Barnyard Buddies at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dallas Heritage Village, 1515 Harwood St. Admission is $5 per child, free for one accompanying adult, $9 for each additional adult and free for members. Call 214-413-3674 or visit dallasheritagevillage.org for more information and reservations.
