Remember the "girl power" movement from the '90s? Everywhere you looked, there was a pre-teen girl wearing a "Girl Power!" T-shirt with little mod flowers all over it, and us young ladies were supposed to look up to that lovable band of bra-burning feminists, the Spice Girls. And while I totally support teaching girls to grow up to be independent and strong, is lip-synching while prancing around in a skin-tight mini-dress REALLY the best way to do that? Now, an all-woman art show at Kettle Artthat's some girl power I could dig. Another Little Piece of My Art features the works of 20 female artists, spanning all media, and shows at Kettle Art, 2714 Elm St., through Saturday. Gallery hours are 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. For more information, call 214-573-7622 or visit kettleart.com.
