An annoyance that 0.01 percent of you will care about: Beer companies sometimes call certain offerings "Belgian" regardless of their origin when "Belgian-style" is more accurate. Belgium being home to amazing breweries, marketing beers -- even American-brewed ones -- as "Belgian" carries serious cache. But Cooperstown, New York-brewed Ommegang is owned by a Flemish brewery, so we'll let it slide. And Ommegang makes outstanding ales including a witte, a pale ale, Rare Vos, Abbey Ale and Three Philosophers Quadruple -- each of which is part of the Ommegang Beer Dinner 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Flying Saucer on the Lake, 4821 Bass Pro Drive. Tickets are $55, $50 for UFO Club members. Call 972-226-0725.
