That the Dallas Opera is offering something for free should be incentive enough, when the free event comes packed with performances, discussions, and "lively" panels (instead of, I guess, wall panels or dead panels, which can't be much fun), it's a no brainer. The Dallas Opera welcomes its patrons back with a Season Preview Day Sunday at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. The day will host a list of events including a lecture on Verdi's Rigoletto, salon discussions about Don Giovanni and Anna Bolena, a performance by Aaron Blake and more. If you have any local museum membership, you'll also be able to purchase tickets onsite with a 10% discount. Quite a deal, especially since the Dallas Opera already makes tickets affordable for everyone from the affluent to the tightly budgeted ramen-friendly arts fanatics. The Dallas Opera's "Dangerous Desires" season will open on Oct. 22. Visit dallasopera.org for more info.
