Pile On Loads of Earthy Fun

Do you see potential in your wastebasket? Couldn't that bag of empty cans and spent paper towel rolls stack up to more than garbage? Maybe -- if arranged just right -- it could be a sculpture...or at least something for the kids to do for a few minutes. In addition to turning junk into art, children can cook in solar ovens and make recycled paper, though not all of Sci-Tech Discovery Center's Earth Day Extravaganza activities are for children. In addition to an appearance by NASCAR driver James Buescher (and his car), new hybrid cars will be on display. Admission to this family event is free. It takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sci-Tech, 8004 N. Dallas Parkway in Frisco. For more information, call 972-546-3050 or visit mindstretchingfun.org.
