With the plethora of newfangled toys and characters for kids these days, the timeless appeal of Winnie-the-Pooh—first created by A.A. Milne in 1926—is pretty impressive. My nephews have admittedly watched their fair share of SpongeBob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer, but the characters that populate the Hundred-Acre Wood are undoubtedly their favorites. For young fans of Pooh and his crew, Dallas Children's Theater has adapted The House at Pooh Corner to the stage using puppets at Kathy Burks Theatre of Puppetry Arts. The puppet show utilizes antique marionettes to bring Pooh, Piglet, Owl, Rabbit and Eeyore to life Friday through March 30 at the Rosewood Center for Family Arts, 5938 Skillman St. Performances are Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. (and 4:30 p.m. on March 8), as well as Sundays at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. There are no performances March 21 through March 23. Friday tickets are $12 to $16, Saturday and Sunday tickets are $16 to $21, and all tickets are half-price on Saturday, March 8. Call 214-740-0051 or visit dct.org for tickets.
