With more than a decade of jamming out their signature 20-minute overtures and epic odysseys behind them, the "improg-rock" band Umphrey's McGee maintains an unpredictable air and feverish energy while still bringing what it calls its "hardest, darkest and most artistically cohesive" sound yet. No set list is ever the same and, what with the unexpected AC/DC and Smashing Pumpkins covers, no performance compares to another. For the Umphreaks who can't take a week off to groove with them at Bonnaroo, Thursday's show at the House of Blues might help you breathe easy. Tickets are $17.50, unless you'd like to buy a four-pack, in which case you'll only pay $13 a piece. Do the math, hippies. Visit houseofblues.com or umphreys.com for more info.
