What do creme brulee and chicken cordon bleu have in common with hair pulling and nail scratching? Well, Richardson Theatre's production of Kitchen Witches, of course! It's Martha Stewart meets Jerry Springer when Isobel Loma and Dolly Biddle are forced to settle 25 years of confrontation on their brand new cooking show Kitchen Witches. Dolly's son Stephen is the show's producer and tries to keep peace between the two ancient rivals but remains unsuccessful as the food--and insults--skyrocket the show's ratings. It's drama a la mode as camera-ready smiles turn to snarls and nails are used for more than peeling oranges. Kitchen Witches, written by Caroline Smith, takes the stage through 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays, through September 5 at the Richardson Theatre Centre, 2701 N. Custer Parkway Suite 718. Tickets are $20 to $40, and Thursdays feature dinner and a show. For more information, call 972-699-1130 or visit richardsontheatrecentre.net.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m.; Thursdays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Aug. 13. Continues through Sept. 5, 2010
