Sinbad Returns ... No, Not That One

If someone brings up the name Sinbad in conversation and the first thing that comes to mind is the comedian, then this show may not be for you. On the other hand, if that same name conjures images of the swashbuckling adventurer known for taking on the living dead, giant lizards and a horrible cyclops or two, then the Pocket Sandwich Theatre has got you pegged. Their Sinbad — The Melodrama is a spoofy homage to those endlessly rerun creature features and serves a fitting plot that involves our hero fighting an evil sorcerer and his curse, all for a lovely princess. Granted, the production isn’t rendered in glorious stop motion, but hey, this time you can toss popcorn at the evildoers. The show runs through August 25 at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre, 5400 E. Mockingbird Lane. Tickets and times vary by day, with Sunday’s performance starting at 7 p.m. For more information, call 214-821-1860 or visit
Sundays, 7 p.m. Starts: July 15. Continues through Aug. 25, 2012
