In some parallel universe and my car, I'm a great singer. I wait for the day that Oprah will come knocking on my door with a surprise in hand. That surprise would be my dream to sing with the Turtle Creek Chorale—preferably in their Christmas show. Forget finishing my education, getting my dream house or finding that perfect soul mate. To be in the midst of what I genuinely consider the sound of heaven on earth and fulfill said dream—on camera—would be the stuff of a classic Oprah episode. I'll probably have to keep dreaming, but in the meantime, check out the Turtle Creek Chorale's upcoming show, Songs of Our Nation, a American historical journey. Performances are at 8 p.m. Sunday and Wednesday at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora St. Call 1-800-494-8497 or visit turtlecreek.org.
Sun., April 2, 8 p.m.; Wed., April 5, 8 p.m.
