Do This!
The 4th Annual Hypnotic Polar Plunge asks you to jump into the frigid waters of the FOE pool to raise money for the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Freezing your ass off won't be how they earn the money, the cold, hard cash you hand over to do it will do the most good. It's $10 to jump, free to spectate. Sales from Deep Ellum Brewing Co. beers and Just Q BBQ will also earn cash for the Alzheimer's Association. Starts at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Consider this your gentle reminder that Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic closes this weekend at The Modern (3200 Darnell St., Fort Worth). It's definitely worth the drive to funky town to see this enormous exhibition of his sculptures and paintings, including a number of his stained glass pieces. It's a fascinating peek at a mid-career artist who is redefining the way black people are portrayed in art. While you're there, check out the Joyce Pensato exhibition as well. Admission is $10.

If you're looking for a place to sip champagne and hang out in art, head to Chalet in the Nasher Sculpture Center from 11 a.m. Friday - 11 a.m. Saturday. Conceived as a place of community by Italian artist Piero Golia, this social sculpture fills a street-facing gallery in the Nasher and is activated from time to time with events and parties. This weekend The Reading Room throws a 24 Hour Book Swap. Bring a book, take a book or listen to short readings from local artists and writers (myself included). Admission is free if you enter Chalet from the street at the southeast corner of the building. Champagne will be flowing.

Eat This!
Oak Cliff is more delicious than ever thanks to bbbop Seoul Kitchen. This local chain moved into a spot on West Davis street where it serves up delicious bibimbap, or Korean rice bowls. Your mouth can begin watering now.

If you currently live in Dallas, there are a few North Texas delicacies you shouldn't sleep on, says our British correspondent (yeah, we fancy). He offers a list of six things he misses after living in Dallas for a few years, including Cuban sandwiches, Korean chicken and elotes. He even shares his favorite spots to chow down as a gift from his homesick stomach to yours.

If you're craving a burger, your first stop might not be the German restaurant Kuby's. Boy, have you been missing out. The Frikadellen earned a rave review from our burger expert for its "Meatloafiness" made right by a crisp layer of bacon. Ja, bitte.

Drink This!
You look thirsty. Now, we don't want to tell you to end your work week early and go on a bender, but we're not not telling you that either. Although, we'd recommend you check out one of the city's 10 best cocktail bars, so it's going to be an expensive bender. You'll need that job come Monday. Five o'clock will be here before you know it.

Do you love puppies? Do you love drinking? Be at Community Beer Company from 2-5 p.m. Saturday for Pints for Pups Tour, an open house that will benefit Dallas Pets Alive! Seriously, what could be better? Tickets are $10.

Hear This!
You know when young people tell you how old they are and it makes you feel old? Well, Club Dada turns five this weekend. Not the same? Ok, technically, that's only the anniversary of its revival, but we like going to shows there so much we'll take any chance to celebrate. Especially with a party featuring The Rich Girls, Cliffs of Insanity, Son of Stan (DJ Set) and Classic Cult. Party starts at 8 p.m. Friday and admission is just $5.

You never know what musical shape shifter George Quartz has up their sleeve when a performance announces itself. But we're savvy enough to know we better show up. At 10 p.m Saturday it has been announced that the Texas Theatre will host Cryztal Visions with George Quartz. Admission is free. You have nothing to lose.

Appreciate local good music? Catch a stacked deck at Three Links Saturday night with Dove Hunter, Mur and Hello Lover. The cover is just $10 and you'll be glad you paid it.

Watch This!
Maybe eventually we'll stop obsessing about the reboot of the Star Wars franchise. Eventually we'll stop picking apart the similarities between episode four and episode seven. Maybe. But not anytime soon. In fact, at 8 p.m. Sunday in between screenings of The Force Awakens, prominent local geeks will debate the merits of the new film at the Texas Theatre. Admission is free. The force is strong with this debate.
