Sure, we all enjoy a good superhero tale now and again, but one man’s idea of a superpower is another man’s WTF moment. Take, for instance, Marrow of the X-Men franchise: She can manipulate her own bones, grow new bones, project bones through her skin and use them as weapons. That’s just plain nasty. But perhaps the strangest superpower of all is that of Paul from Superhero!, the newest comedic play from Triple J Productions: The guy plays chords on the ukulele while mimicking Elvis. I know what you’re thinking: Can a dude like that really save the local grocery store from the evil Trench Coat Man? There’s one way to find out. Superhero! opens at the Bath House Cultural Center, 521 E. Lawther Drive, on Thursday. Shows are at 7 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Saturdays through January 21. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved online to be purchased at the door (by cash or check only). Discounts for students, seniors and kids are available. For more information, call 469-525-3263 or visit triplejproductions.org.
Saturdays, 2 p.m.; Thursdays-Saturdays, 7 p.m. Starts: Jan. 7. Continues through Jan. 21, 2012
