Pop culture thrives on stereotypes like the nagging wife and the harried, pot-bellied husband who populate nearly every tired family sitcom. Long-suffering couples see a glimpse of themselves in Peg and Al Bundy, the poster couple of modern TV marriage. We’ve all been there, done that, and are secretly relieved to know someone else relaxes on the couch with his pants unbuttoned. The off-Broadway hit I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change pokes fun at relationships, from the first rush of lust to marriage and what comes after: kids, in-laws, erectile dysfunction (OK, we’re not sure about the last one). The musical comedy isn’t a traditional linear play; it’s a series of vignettes that frame the arc of a relationship. I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change runs through February 19 at Theatre Three, 2800 Routh St., Ste. 168. Tickets are $35-$40. Tickets for the Valentine’s Day show are $50. Call the box office at 214-871-3300 or visit theatre3dallas.com.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2:30 p.m.; Thursdays, Sundays, 7:30 p.m.; Tue., Feb. 14, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Jan. 21. Continues through Feb. 19, 2012
