BEST OF DALLAS® 2010

We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole bunch of Saturdays (and Mondays through Fridays) in bars, restaurants and shops to find out whatever it is Dallas does right. Some of what we did was wrong, and we have the bar tabs to prove it. But we must be crazy to think we can write an issue telling you who we think Dallas is. The North Dallas folk, the southerners, the Lakewooders, the Oak Cliff bikos, they see their part of Dallas as they want to see it...in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is every part of Dallas is filled with creative brains, athletes, artists, craftsmen—and a few princesses.

That leaves us, the Dallas Observer basket cases, to sum it all up, to try to capture the best of the whole city and gather it here, just like we’ve done weekly for 30 years now. We hope this Best of Dallas® issue answers your questions.
