BCS Playoffs: Round of 16
While we're trying to figure out Florida coach Urban Meyer (one day it's his health; the next he just doesn't want to cede control) and muster up interest in this afternoon's Independence Bowl (Texas A&M and Georgia are a combined 13-11), let's again daydream of a world void of the BCS and filled with a real, live playoff system ...
After some upsets in the first round, the Round of 16 delivered just one shocker, with Georgia Tech's ground game leading the Jackets past Florida. All the other higher-seeded teams advanced - including Texas' 20-14 win over pesky Nebraska - to set up some delicious quarterfinals.
Cincinnati vs. Georgia Tech.
Alabama vs. Boise State.
TCU vs. Oregon.
Texas vs. Ohio State.
