Florida's Tim Tebow might be available next year's NFL Draft. The girl? Way out of our league.

With the Cowboys teetering on the blink of an unfathomable implosion and missing the playoffs, it’s never too early to think about 2009. And it’s always nice to keep up with blasts from the past.

Combine the two elements and – presto! – Dane Brugler’s NFL Draft Source.

You remember Dane, right? The 22-year-old self-taught draftnik didn’t get the job with the Green Bay Packers last summer. But he still has his gig as Operations and Communications Coordinator for the Frisco RoughRiders. And, as of Monday, he has his own spiffy web site.

Despite shipping away three picks – including their first-rounder – to the Detroit Lions for Roy Williams, the Cowboys still have nine picks in the ’09 NFL Draft ( 2nd, 3rd, two 4ths, two 5ths, 6th and two 7ths)

In his debut rankings, by the way, Brugler has Highland Park/Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford as the second-rated underclassman. Ohio State cornerback Malcolm Jenkins is No. 1 on the overall board. I’d trade him for Mike Jenkins this afternoon, no questions asked. – Richie Whitt
