The Hardline One Year Later: Yay or Nay?
Better than the original?
Last Sunday marked the 1-year anniversary of Greg Williams’ departure from The Ticket. On Oct. 12, 2007 – as most of you well know – Williams walked away from a Hardline remote and into a 9-month tailspin that I began chronicling with this and this and climaxed with this.
With Corby Davidson assuming a tighter grip on The Hardline steering wheel, it seems the show has found a working balance, maintained its lofty ratings and won’t add a voice to replace Greggo. And Williams has landed on his feet, finally earning a weeknight gig on ESPN Radio.
So I ask you, P1 or marginally passionate radio listener, are you better off in ’08 than you were in ’07?
Do you like the post-breakup separation of stations? Or do you long for the days of "The Hammer" on The Hardline?
UPDATE: In the summer '08 Arbitron ratings, The Ticket earned a 6.5 among coveted male listeners 25-54. ESPN clocked in at 3.5. – Richie Whitt
