Whitt's End: 11.5.10
*Deservedly so, the Rangers are milking their success. Manager Ron Washington will drop the puck at tonight's Stars game and C.J. Wilson will drive the pace car before Sunday's AAA Texas 500 out at Texas Motor Speedway.
*Somehow Taylor Swift's new album sold over a million in its first week and has 10 songs on Billboard's Hot 100. She's fun to look at, but give me Willie Nelson and his concert before Sunday's NASCAR race out at TMS.
*Speaking of auto racing, Ashley Force Hood is hot. But her crew is a bunch of dorks. See what I mean?
*It was one year ago today already that Major Nidal Hassan opened fire on a crowded medical processing building on Fort Hood, killing 13. He was eventually shot, is paralyzed from the chest down and charged with 13 counts of pre-meditated murder and 32 counts of attempted murder. My question: Why the heck is he still alive?
*The Giants' Aubrey Huff and his lucky red thong made me realize something: I haven't worn underwear in over a year now. Just didn't one day, and never did again. One less thing to worry about I guess. (Best punch-line insult wins a free month's subscription to this here Sportatorium.)
*Since a 114-year-old woman named Eugenie has died near St. Barts, the world's oldest living woman - named Eunice - lives in East Texas. Both were born in 1896. We'll soon live on a planet void of anyone born in the 19th Century. Weird.
*Having already won four consecutive championships and on his way to a unprecedented fifth, seems like NASCAR's Jimmie Johnson would be a bigger star. Don't think I'd recognize him in an airport unless he was wearing the No. 48 cap. It is 48 right?
*TCU 17, Utah 10.
*This weekend? Today and Saturday I'll be out at Texas Motor Speedway for NASCAR weekend and Sunday I'll dazzle my eyeballs with Cowboys-Packers, followed by the post-game show on 105.3 The Fan from Duke's in Addison. Don't be no stranger.
