You Betcha: Week 4
I know, right? I’m a roll.
The Cowboys are 0-2; I’m 0-2 on the Cowboys. Silly me, I didn’t factor in Tony Romo’s mental meltdown that gave the Eagles 14 points in 14 seconds last Monday night.
At the risk of going oh and three, I feel a Cowboys’ letdown this week. Lots of things going against them, summed up best thusly:
Dallas is coming off an emotionally draining victory.
Traveling on a short week.
Playing an undefeated team at home.
And, did I mention, giving 3 points?
Considering how the Cowboys spanked the Packers last November, how Dallas just won a crucial divisional game and how the Pack seemed determined to prop up Aaron Rodgers, I get the feeling this game is bigger, more important to Green Bay. Give me the Pack and the points.
In other words, I don’t expect the game turn out the same way as NFL Network’s replay of the Packers-Cowboys ’95 NFC Championship Game tonight at 8.
I started with a mythical bankroll of $10,000, courtesy of Bodog sports online gaming. First of all, because their site is easy to navigate. Second, because they’re based in Costa Rica and have had minimal success tracking me down in the past.
I’ll analyze games of local interest each weekend and make a wager or two every Friday. With any luck, by Christmas it’ll be toys for everyone.
STARTING BANKROLL: $10,000 CURRENT BANKROLL: $8,000 SEASON RECORD: 1-2 LAST WEEK: 0-1 (-$1,200) THIS WEEK: Packers plus-3 for $2,000. -- Richie Whitt
