A Brew Bro Down
When it comes to a good experience, three little words can make all the difference: “the second annual.” That phrase can mean no bullshit, fewer kinks, more awesomeness and, in the case of the Big Texas Beer Fest, more stomach padding than last year’s inaugural event. The festival — launched and organized by two local hopheads — celebrates craft beer and the small businesses that brew it. This year, more than 100 booths will offer up several beers for sampling (in 2-ounce portions, including many unavailable in stores and restaurants), while bands like Fish Fry Bingo and The O’s provide live entertainment and food trucks, cheese vendors, coffee vendors and more provide non-alcoholic sustenance. The 21-and-up (so, like, leave the kids at home) event takes place Saturday in the Fair Park Automobile Building (1300 Robert B. Cullum Blvd.) Admission is $35 (general admission) to $60 (VIP). To purchase, or for the ever-growing list of participating breweries, FAQs and more info, visit bigtexasbeerfest.com and start prepping for Round Two.
