A Brimful for ASHA
When Indian musicians Sushmit Sen, Asheem Chakravarthy, Amit Kilam and Rahul Ram come together onstage, the result, according to a Wikipedia profile, is "Indo-rock fusion with jazz-spiced rhythms that integrates sufism, shlokas, environmentalism, mythology and revolution." We like it because it has a beat you can dance to. Catch their band Indian Ocean at a concert to benefit the Dallas Chapter of ASHA for Education, which funds programs to teach basic education in India as a means to economic growth. Dive in at 7 p.m. Friday in the Hill Performance Hall of the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson. Tickets are $20 to $55 in advance; $30 to $65 at the door. Call 972-744-4650 or visit eisemanncenter.com.
Fri., April 14, 7 p.m.
