A Royal Lesson
If you like your theater with a bit of background, then you’ll love Come Early, the new pre-show lecture program from the Dallas Theater Center. Each event features a discussion with a member of the cast or artist team before DTC raises the curtain, giving audiences insights and background. Opening the 2013 season and first on the roster in the lecture series is DTC’s production of the Shakespeare tragedy King Lear, featuring members of the Trinity Repertory Company. Pregame in the theater world and get some inside info about the historical context behind this masterpiece. King Lear opens at 8 p.m. Friday and runs through February 17 at the Wyly Theatre, 2400 Flora St. Tickets are $15 to $60. Come Early lectures are an added free bonus for DTC shows and begin one hour before curtain. Call 214-880-0202 or visit dallastheatercenter.org.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Jan. 18. Continues through Feb. 17, 2013
