A Visual Narrative
Trapped within a prepackaged cubical at an anonymous office, Irving artist Richard Ross felt his fingers type the beginning of a sentence, the beginning of something: The road to the store. He didn’t know why his fingers chose that path across the keyboard, as though they’d deciphered an ancient dance beyond his conscious knowledge. The result, Ross found, was a new mixed-media collection, The Narrative, that continues his hope “to communicate his search for beauty and glimpses of the Platonic Forms into a new mythology.” With an opening reception from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday at Kettle Art Gallery, 2714 Elm St., The Narrative seeks to understand why we search and what we need. Catch the show during regular gallery hours through September 15. Call 214-573-7622 or visit kettleart.com.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 23. Continues through Sept. 15, 2012
