Always Love Yooooooou

It seems a little odd that someone — particularly someone not in drag — would make a career impersonating Dolly Parton, seeing how Dolly isn’t, not to be crass, dead. Elvis impersonators? He is dead or returned to his home planet or otherwise not available, so that makes sense. But Dolly, one of the best-loved country vocalists of all time, still performs, though not as often as fans would wish. So perhaps an ersatz Dolly is better than no Dolly at all. See for yourself as Las Vegas-based entertainer Sandy Anderson brings her Dolly Parton Tribute Show to the Uptown Theater, 120 E. Main St. in Grand Prairie. Patterson has brought the wigs, the costumes and the lilting soprano to stages from Vegas to Branson, Missouri. Perhaps most important, she has performed with Dolly herself at Dollywood in Tennessee, which means she has the Dolly stamp of approval. So, we’re cool with Patterson as long as she don’t try to take Dolly’s man just because she can (bet she couldn’t anyway). The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15 and $20. See for ducats and deets.
