An Art Fest for the Ears and Eyes

The name “Art Festival” is a little misleading. This is more than just a two-day event where people wander around tents and walls and look at artworks. It’s more like an outdoor music festival mixed with a massive art show that anyone with a set of eyes and a sense of spacial artistry can attend. Richardson’s semi-annual Cottonwood Art Festival in Cottonwood Park (1321 W. Belt Line Road, Richardson) runs 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and continues 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday with works from more than 1,400 artists in fields from ceramics to two-dimensional mixed media. The weekend event will also feature live performances by Robert Gotcher, Randy Hopper and the Big Texas Boys, Texas Flood, Lone Star Attitude, Shoot Low Sheriff and many others. Entry to the festival is free.
Sat., May 3, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sun., May 4, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2014
