Art Talk it Out
Grab your “Ira Glass-es” and fountain pen and meet us at the intersection of aesthetic and cerebral where art and philosophy collide during two upcoming art talks on Thursday, March 8. First, the DMA and the Nasher partner to bring you The Art of Language: Mark Manders and Elliott Hundley, a workshop led by poet Farid Matuk and UNT English professor Dr. Cynthia King. Participants will explore the role of language in exhibitions by Manders and Hundley and respond, in turn, through writing of their own. Photographs Do Not Bend Gallery is also talking it out on 3/8 with a reception and discussion by internationally-acclaimed Dutch photographer Teun Voeten on his work featured in PDNB’s BORDER exhibition. Free and open to the public, the reception begins at 5:30 at 1202 Dragon St. #103, with Voeten to follow at 6:30, expanding upon his intrepid documentation of the virulent drug wars in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
