There are some (like me) who can watch the very first season of Star Trek (aka TOS) and find themselves absolutely giddy at the costuming, the dialogue, the sets, the everything. There are others who are so into The Next Generation that they identify as a Spiner Femme and take "Brent Breaks" on occasion (about that reference, some may have learned just enough to plow headfirst into the Final Frontier one way or the other after watching a little documentary called Trekkies). There are others still who respect the past, but find themselves committed to Enterprise, or even J.J. Abrams' version of the story. Wherever you find yourself in the world of warp speed, there's one place you need to be this weekend: Star Trek Fan Days. It's the Sci-Fi Expo, people, and William effing Shatner is going to be there. Q&As, photos, autographs, the whole deal. Who else is slated to appear, you ask? The awesomeness that is Christopher Lloyd, Brent "Commander Data" Spiner, Jonathan "Riker, but c'mon, he's a director now, too" Frakes, Michael "Worf!" Dorn, and a bunch of other non-Trek peeps ranging from Tia Carrere, for no apparent reason, to Tom "Draco Malfoy, aka the reason this place will be crawling with teenage girls who think 'Shatner' is a cussword" Felton, to a slew of character actors sci-fi watchers adore. Also, sci-fi archivists, artists, experts and others will be in attendance. Autographs and photos with celebs are available for a fee. Preregistration is available online for some photos. Star Trek Fan Days takes place 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Plano Center, 2000 E. Spring Creek Parkway. Admission is $10 (general admission) to $150 (VIP pass). A limited number of Special Captain's Passes ($495) are available for a meet-and-greet experience with William Shatner. Visit scifiexpo.com/DCC/fandays.html.
