Summer is on its way, and it's that time of year for a special anthropomorphic character to hop up in his special garden retreat. The temperature is rising, popsicles are melting and yes, even the carrots and celery are ready for munching because our furry friend is ready to join in this season at the prettiest patch near you when the Dallas Arboretum presents Summer at the Arboretum Festival featuring Peter Rabbit's Flower Village. Enjoy an architectural landscape of bright houses made with luscious impatiens, begonias and vinca, all based off of Beatrix Potter's famous bunny tales. Say hello to Squirrel Nutkin, Mrs. Tittlemouse and Jemima Puddle-Duck. Take a picture with Peter himself, purchase the classic book series from the Hoffman Family Gift Store or just stop and smell the ageratum, petunias, cleome, salvia, marigolds and zinnias for a while. Hippity hoppity. You're already on your way. The festival takes place Sunday through July 31 at the Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road. Tickets are $8 to $12. For more information call 214-515-6500 or visit dallasarboretum.org.
